Before
you E-mail!
I'm a human
being (yes, I know it's hard to believe, but I really am.), and
as such I have both the right to respect and a temper. So stick
to my guidelines. Here they are!
1. Why
are you contacting me?
If
you need help installing something you've downloaded, then go to
the Installer's
FAQ. If
you've got a problem with something you've downloaded from
another site, then contact them. If
you've got a problem with your game, then by all means try me,
but I'm not an expert on everything. You'll probably have more
luck on the technical forums of Mod
the Sims 2.
If
you have something to say about my site, my work, or me acquiring
large amounts of money (I wish!), then go ahead and e-mail me
2.
What are you going to say?
Start
off with language (in two senses). First, which language you
speak. I'm a good linguist. That means that, apart from speaking
fairly good French and German, I can understand the spew that
comes out of the end of a free translator. So if you don't know
how to explain what you want to say in English, then write it in
your language, and tell me the English name for that language:
I'll do my best to work it out!
Second,
how you use your language. I'm not an angel, I do swear now and
then, and I can say offensive things. Not to a stranger whose
help I need. If I see a load of swearing, I will delete your
message, I may or may not reply first asking you to re-phrase -
it all depends on my mood. If you have a legitimate complaint
then it's very welcome, if you just want to come and insult me -
your Gracious Webmistress - then tough luck. If I receive such
an e-mail I'll put you on my block list, and that means that if
you ever do need my help, your question won't even get as far as
my inbox.
Lastly:
yes, I am a moderator on MTS2. DO NOT e-mail me about MTS2. I
have a PM inbox at MTS2, this e-mail address is for things
relating to this site.
3.
Requesting something?
If
you have a request for me, then great. I'm always glad of new
ideas. But please remember - I can't do everything. Custom
careers, for instance, really don't get on well with me. If I
can't do something then I will of course e-mail you.
Another
thing to remember is that I am not a mail-order service.
If you request that I create something, then I might do it. Or I
might not. If I don't, I will probably tell you why not, but
then again I might not. If something takes a long time then don't
bombard me with "When's it going to be ready?"
e-mails, if I've said I'll do something then I'll do it.
Finally!
If
you're still sane and standing after that, congratulations! You
may now e-mail me! I will reply as soon as I have a chance, but
that may be up to (or occasionally even over) a week.
